# Data Completeness

> A dashboard item that shows, for every data source, the share of expected minutes that arrived, its gaps by hour and whether it is silent now.

Source: https://proxus.io/docs/analyze/dashboard-items/data-completeness

The **Data Completeness** item shows, for every data source,
how much of the expected data arrived. Use it when data from the plant feeds a historian, a data lake or a warehouse,
to see at a glance which sources are complete and which have gaps.

- **Summary.** The share of expected minutes received across all sources, and how many sources are **Silent now**,
**With gaps** or **Complete**. When values are bound, the number of values stored.
- **Row.** One source, the weakest first: its share of minutes received, a strip with one bar per period (full,
partly received or missing), and a short note: every minute received, the number of gaps and the longest one, or
how long the source has sent nothing.

A source is **Silent now** when its last data is older than the silence limit, and **With gaps** when its share is
below the complete limit or one of its gaps lasts an hour or more. Select a row to filter the other items of the
dashboard by that source.

## Data fields

**Source**, **Period**, **Minutes received** and **Minutes expected** are required: one row per source and period
(usually an hour), with the minutes in which the source delivered data and the minutes the period had. Give every
source a row for every period, also the periods in which it sent nothing, so a gap is a row with fewer minutes.
**Group**, such as the plant, is shown under the name. **Values stored** adds the count of values to the summary.
**Minutes since last data** is read as the smallest value per source and decides whether it is silent now.

## Settings

- **Complete from (%)** is the share of minutes at which a source counts as complete.
- **Silent after (min)** is how long a source may send nothing before it counts as silent.

## Where to see it

The Meridian demo plant uses it on **Meridian · Data Feed Command Center**.
