# Data Volume

> A dashboard item that charts the values stored per period, stacked by plant or another group, with the total, the daily average and today so far.

The **Data Volume**  item charts how many values were stored in each
period, one stacked bar per period with a band per group (plant, gateway or any other grouping).

- **Header.** The values stored in the window, the average per finished period, the latest period so far and, with a
  signal bound, how many signal names the values belong to.
- **Chart.** Point at a bar to see each group's values in that period.

## Data fields

**Period**, **Group** and **Values stored** are required. **Signal** adds the count of signal names and lets a signal
selection in another item narrow the chart.

The Meridian demo plant uses it on **Meridian · Data Platform Command Center**, filtered by the
