# Read Time

> A dashboard item that charts how long each device takes to answer a read, slowest first, against a slow line, leaving out devices not reading.

Source: https://proxus.io/docs/analyze/dashboard-items/read-time

The **Read Time** item charts how long each device takes to answer a
read, one bar per device, slowest first. Bars at or over the slow limit are amber, and the slow line is drawn where the
bars come near it.

- **Header.** The median read time, the slowest device, how many devices are slow and how many are not reading and
  left out of the chart.
- **Chart.** Point at a bar to see the device's Edge Gateway and protocol.

## Data fields

**Device** and **Read time (ms)** are required. With **Seconds since last read** bound, devices whose last read is
older than the limit are left out and counted in the header.

## Settings

- **Slow from (ms)** is the read time from which a bar counts as slow.
- **Not reading after (s)** is how old the last read may be before a device is left out.
- **Devices shown** is how many bars the chart draws.

## Where to see it

The Meridian demo plant uses it on **Meridian · Connectivity Command Center**.
