Condition Trend
A dashboard item that draws one asset's vibration or temperature over time against its watch and alarm limits, and when the trend reaches the limit.
The Condition Trend draws one asset's measurement, such as vibration or bearing temperature, over time against its limits. Use it to see whether a machine is getting worse and how soon it reaches its alarm limit.
- Zones. The normal, watch and alarm zones are bands behind the line, with the two limits as dashed lines.
- Marks. Every moment the value entered the watch or the alarm zone is marked on the line.
- Headline. The latest value, its zone, and a note: that the value is above the alarm limit, when it reaches the alarm limit at the current trend, or whether it is rising at all.
- Projection. While the value is rising, a dotted line extends the trend of the last days to the alarm limit.
The projection is a straight line through the recent values, labelled as such. It is not a remaining-life model and does not say when the machine will fail; it says where the trend leads if nothing changes.
With several assets in the data, the asset closest to its alarm limit is shown first and a list picks another. A dashboard filter, such as a card selected on the Asset Health Board, narrows it to one asset.
Data fields
| Field | Kind |
|---|---|
| Asset | Dimension |
| Time | Dimension |
| Value | Measure |
Asset, Time and Value are all required: one row per asset and time, for example an hourly average.
Settings
| Setting | Values | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Watch limit | A number | 2.8 |
| Alarm limit | A number | 4.5 |
| Unit | Text | mm/s |
| Trend over the last (days) | A number from 1 to 60 | 7 |
- Watch limit and Alarm limit set the zones. Keep the watch limit the lower of the two.
- Unit is written after the values (for example
mm/sor°C). - Trend over the last (days) is how many days of values the projection is drawn through.
Where to see it
The Meridian demo plant uses it for vibration on Meridian · Condition Monitoring Command Center.
