Shift Pace

A dashboard item that compares the shift's output so far with its plan, slot by slot, and projects where the shift ends at the current pace.

The Shift Pace answers whether the shift will reach its target. It draws the output made so far against the plan and extends it to the end of the shift at the current pace. Use it on a live line screen, where a supervisor needs to see a line falling behind while there is still time to act.

  • Headline. The projected output at the end of the shift, and how far above or below the plan it lands. Once the shift is over, it shows the shift result instead.
  • Chart. The running total of the output and of the plan across the shift's time slots, with the projection as a dotted line from now to the end of the shift.
  • Lines. With several lines in the data, the buttons above the chart show all lines together or one line.

The current pace is the output rate of the last hour (or of the shift so far, if it started less than an hour ago).

Time slot and Output are required: one row per slot of the shift, such as every 15 minutes or every hour, with the output made in it. Slots still to come carry only their Plan. Add Plan to compare against it; without it the item shows the output and the projection only. Minutes passed tells how far the current slot has run, which places "now" exactly; without it, the last slot with output counts as complete.

  • Values are running totals: turn it on when Output and Plan already add up from the start of the shift, rather than giving each slot's own amount.
  • Slot length (min) is the length of one time slot, used to place now and to work out the pace.
  • Unit is written after the figures (for example units, cases, kg).
