State Timeline

A dashboard item with one lane per line or machine and a coloured band for each state, such as running, waiting, down or changeover.

The State Timeline shows what each line or machine was doing across a shift or a longer period. Use it to find when a line stopped, for how long and why, including the short stops that never reach a logbook.

  • Lanes. One lane per value of Line or machine, with a band for each period in a state.
  • Colours. Running, waiting (starved or blocked), down (a fault), changeover, planned stop (maintenance, cleaning, breaks) and off each have their own colour.
  • Legend. Above the lanes, with the total time of each state. Select a state in the legend to hide or show it, for example to leave only the stops.
  • Tooltip. Point at a band to read its state, its reason, its start, its end and its length.

Zoom in time with the mouse wheel, a pinch or the slider under the lanes. Select a band to filter the other items of the dashboard by its lane. On a narrow item the lane names sit above the lanes.

Duration (min)Measure

Line or machine, State and Start are required, with End or Duration: one row per period. When a row has no end, the item adds the duration to its start. The State value sets the colour. The item reads common English state words, in any case: for example Running, Starved, Blocked, Fault, Changeover, Planned maintenance, Cleaning and Off. A number is read as a Proxus machine-state code (0 off, 1 running, 2 starved, 3 blocked, 4 fault, 5 changeover, 6 planned maintenance, 7 cleaning). Reason is shown in the tooltip.

Settings

SettingValuesDefault
Show running shareNo, YesYes

Show running share writes each lane's running time as a share of its time, beside the lane name. A narrow item leaves it out.

Where to see it

The Meridian demo plant uses it on Meridian · Line Performance and Meridian · OEE Command Center, and for the time in each vibration zone on Meridian · Condition Monitoring Command Center.
